Nella Fantasia are the lyrics that Sarah Brightman wrote to the music segment Gabriel's Oboe from Ennio Morricone's score of the movie The Mission. Ennio Morricone never liked those lyrics and never intended Gabriel's Oboe to have lyrics. It was a music piece written specifically for the oboe, not the voice. Ennio Morricone only gave in to Sarah Brightman and let her use his music for her song after her constant requests. Ennio Morricone, did collaborate with Hayley Westenra on her song lyrics Whispers In A Dream to his music Gabriel's Oboe. The movie The Mission, has no songs. The songs have come many years after the movie. Ennio Morricone won The Golden Globe for his score for The Mission. The music is heavenly and masterful .

Thank you , this was sung at my wife's service last November and I'm weeping as I watch this. She was piped into our church with Amazing Grace and piped to Heaven with Going Home. It was a very comforting service, this was one of her favourite hymns, she also loved Abide with me and Breathe on me, Breath of God. We were married for over 40 years and I miss her so much. Thanks again, lovely version.
